Let’s meet the Queen Bee(zee)!

BZ Smith launched her professional career as a multi-faceted artist in 1973, not only as a storyteller, but as an educator, writer, multi-media artist, quilter, and so much more. Now, she utilizes those 50+ years of experience to bring folks together to build and create. One of her favorite "hobbies" is knitting people together who share common ideas and talents. "I love introducing people who want to build collaborations: People-to-People, connecting the dots!"

As a kid, everyone said BZ was “as busy as a bee!” Not fond of her nickname at first, she grew into it as she grew up. As an adult, BZ decided to “just own it” and a few years back, our own lovely Queen and some good friends thought up the name "Hive-Arts”… A sustainable artistic “honey hive”: a collective of folks who want to make sweet artistic nectar.

Today BZ, THE TEACHER, strives to help others learn how to organize projects and outline support teams. BZ, THE PERFORMER, still enjoys being onstage and making memories! BZ, THE STORYTELLER, will keep sharing tales and passing them to new generations until the lights go out. Finally BZ, THE MENTOR, hopes to ALWAYS pollinate the imagination, then step back and watch creativity take wing.
